We love sharing some of our more ‘colorful’ stories with you. This Spring we were asked to clean out and completely gut all 25 rooms in the the Skytop Motel in Dover NJ. Here’s a before picture to give you an idea of what we faced.
Never ones to be daunted, we knew we needed help. Since televisions were among the more challenging items that needed to be ‘terminated,’ we knew just who to call for help with disposing of them properly and safely. We picked up the phone and called our buddy John Titone, who runs Clean Green Electronic Recycling (CGER). We know CGER through the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks to great teamwork, and lots of sweat and tears (no blood), we got the job done in less than 24 hours. The rooms were completely gutted from the carpet on the ground to every last bit of junk in the rooms. After 12 truckloads we were done. And, of course, everything was recycled accordingly to state laws, since we like to keep things clean and green.
In addition to the satisfaction of a job well done, we were thrilled to be able to make a real difference by donating some of the televisions to the Morris County Soup Kitchen, which led to big smiles on quite a few faces.
All in all, a job that at first seemed a bit Herculean, was done fast, efficiently, and professionally–with ‘just a little bit of help from our friends.’
